Even a Dog has His Bike to Work Day

Even a dog has his Bike to Work day. My Edmonds News – May 20, 2012

Members of the Edmonds Bicycle Advocacy Group got an early start to their day Friday, handing out freshly baked Edmonds PCC scones, hot Starbucks coffee and information to bicyclists on their way to work near the Edmonds Ferry Terminal.

The group set up a booth in the parking lot of the Vatika Restaurant and two bike mechanics, courtesy of Bicycles West, were on hand to provide advice and quick repairs if needed.

Among those stopping was cyclist Michael Howell of Suquamish, who commutes daily via the Kingston-Edmonds ferry to his job at Crane Aerospace in north Lynnwood. It’s a 20-mile daily roundtrip bike ride for Howell once he gets off the ferry, and he credits the weekly 100-mile commute to his 20-pound weight loss since he started biking to work in July 2011.
