Can you help do cyclist and pedestrian counting?

Cyclist and pedestrian counters are still needed in some locations in Snohomish County, especially in Everett, Mountlake Terrace, and Shoreline areas on Sept. 29 or Sept. 30 or Oct. 1 for the annual WSDOT State Bicycle & Pedestrian Documentation Project (which partners with Cascade Bicycle Club).
The PURPOSE of the counting is: Just like motor vehicle counts, counting bicyclists and pedestrians at specific locations will help WSDOT to more accurately estimate demand, measure the benefits of investments, and design their projects. This information will also help them target safety and mobility projects and improve traffic models.

Want to help direct future project dollars toward our area’s cycling & walking trails/routes for further improvements? If you have 2 hours of free time on any of the above 3 dates between 7-9am or 4-6pm, you can register to help at the WSDOT website.
